Welcome to my website! I'm Peter J Chapple, a watercolour artist based in the vibrant town of Halifax, West Yorkshire. I draw much inspiration from the surrounding landscape and the rich history of this region. My journey as an artist has led me to specialise in the captivating medium of watercolour painting. My studio, where my artwork comes to life, is nestled in the basement of my house where I live with with my wife, three children, and our beloved dog - Stella. Creativity echoes through every corner of our home. Together, we create an atmosphere that nurtures my artistic spirit and allows me to immerse myself in the world of watercolours.

I graduated from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Architecture and Art History in 2002. I then embraced the exciting path of self-employment, specialising in house and pet portraits which continue to make up the bulk of my commissioned works.
Over the years I have had the privilege of undertaking numerous commissions for private art collectors across the United Kingdom and beyond.
By combining my architectural background with my artistic sensibilities, I have been able to breathe life into house portraits, capturing the unique character and essence of each individual residence.
As I progress on this journey I look forward to engaging with new artistic challenges, creating beautiful artworks, and forging enduring connections with a diverse array of art enthusiasts from all walks of life.
